An Introduction to Hip Hop Music

Hip hop music has become a worldwide phenomenon, for some is it may be called the soundtrack of the youth generation, and it holds its own sway with other forms of music such as rock, classical, opera, or pop. It may also be more in tune with many other genres than just its own.

With so many different influences in one genre of music, how does one determine what is real hip hop and what is fake urban rap music? Most importantly, you want to hear good hip hop and not a poorly made product. A good one will never have a bad beat. If the beat is really bad, that's a bad rap song.

As long as you get the proper instruction, you should have no trouble finding hip hop music that makes you listen up. The Internet provides an abundance of different places to find these sounds that we love so much. The best thing about hip-hop music is the ability to add your own instrumentation, sound effects, and color, while never having to duplicate an entire song.

There are a few ways to learn how to sing hip hop music. You can find books, DVDs, CDs, and even online lessons and lesson plans. Many people listen to the same songs over again, and to me, this shows you can learn how to sing them as well as those that we see on the radio.

Some of us learn best by watching others who are trying to sing the songs that we love. Some of the greatest singers are from the early 1980s and in a time where everything was different, some of the standards that they use, such as "Mary Had a Little Lamb" was from the early 1900s. It is amazing how they still keep their voices.

As far as hip-hop music is concerned, there are so many instruments that can be used. The drums, bass, saxophone, guitar, piano, upright bass, xylophone, sousaphone, violin, and even the ukulele. If you don't know what you are doing, you can pick up some instructional books at your local library or book store. Or you can try out some samples in the home recording studio you own.

As you probably know, you can make your own beats, but there are only a few good ones available for free. There are plenty of good ones that you can buy online, and that can be shared. But, there are two downsides to them, most being they cannot be passed around easily.

If you are really interested in learning about hip-hop music, start off with the basics and if you want to get into more advanced work, then stick with those that can be bought online. Or you can attend classes and learn how to sing hip hop music yourself.
